The long wait was over and after trending in social media, a month before it’s actual scheduled date, even after now, the results are still picking up on social media most specifically facebook and twitter. There were some upsets and unexpected results but that is how sports and mma specifically is all about, it’s unpredictable even you seem to know who will win at the back of your mind. As expected, One Fighting Championship organized it well with perfection. Congratulations to CEO Victor Cui and all OneFC Team that brough Onefc world class MMA fights here in Kuala Lumpur. Next stop is Manila on May 2014 so be sure to check more information about that by checking their website or their Facebook page.
As much as I would go through the details about the fights from the events, this blog will only discuss my experience in shooting the event and not on details of who won and who lost during the fights, I may do that, but it’s not my main goal to write this blog. My goal is to write about my experience shooting the event and nothing more or less. Maybe a little bit of the shots I took.
To start with, I would like to thank Justin Ng of MOPSG (Ministry Of Photography Singapore) and most of All One Fighting Championship for allowing us to take photos from the VIP red carpet area and shooting the fights too.
This is my third time to shoot for OneFC event in Malaysia and this is also the third OneFC event in Malaysia. Needless to say that I was present in all those events, not just I am an mma fan but because I love to shoot this sport. Despite my limitations on the gears I use, It did not stop me from shooting it over and over again. It’s a fast paced sport coupled with a difficult shooting condition (unless you shoot near the cage). Only official Onefc photographers and some media photographers get to shoot near the ring itself and when shooting a little bit farther like what we always do, you need to have at least a full frame body camera and a fast lens. These details were mentioned at my previous onefc blog last March 2013.
The red carpet for VIPs has always been part of what we shoot in every event and here are some of the photos I took.
Here are the fight shots and some candids of the event.
To see more of the photos I took for this event and all other OneFC events check out my OneFC gallery. This is it for now and do subscribe on my mailing list to get updates on new posts.
